Frequently asked questions
What happens in the free 15-minute phone/ online call?
During the free 15-minute introductory call, we can talk about your therapy needs. Then, if you’re happy to proceed, we can arrange an initial consultation.
What happens in the initial consultation?
During the initial consultation, which lasts 50 minutes, we can explore in more depth what brings you to therapy and what you hope to get out of it. I can also answer any questions you might have at this stage. We will also talk about confidentiality, means of communication, what you need to do if you want to cancel a session, fees, etc.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes, this is possible and can be discussed during the initial consultation.
How often are the sessions?
Sessions are weekly. Having weekly sessions can lead to momentum in the therapy and allows you to build on the thoughts, feelings, insights that arise during and in between sessions.
Other frequency of sessions can be considered depending on the circumstances.
How long is each session and how many will I need?
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. In terms of how many sessions, therapy is a personal process, and the number of sessions needed varies depending on your goals, pace, and what feels right for you. Longer term therapy creates space to explore underlying patterns and build lasting insight. Short-term work can offer focus and relief.
How much are the sessions?
Sessions are £65 for psychodynamic therapy and £90 for work therapy. I have some concessionary spaces and we can discuss this during your initial consultation.
Where are the face to face sessions held?
I offer face to face appointments from clinics in Hurstpierpoint and Hove:
Hurst Therapy Centre, 133 High Street, 2nd Floor, Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex, BN6 9PU
The Therapy Clinic, 175 Westbourne Street, Hove, BN3 5FB
What is the payment method?
We will agree a payment method during the initial consultation.
What happens if I want to stop attending therapy?
You can leave therapy whenever you want to. It is a good idea to discuss this in the therapy so that it can be planned and agreed as part of the therapy process.
Is what we talk about confidential?
Yes. Please have a look at my Privacy Policy for more information.
